SALES DIRECTOR'S OFFICE. 16th June, 1934.

Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ld.,
DERBY.

Attention of Mr. J.C.Bowering.

Dear Sirs,

JACKALL JACKS.

Further in reference to the two flexible tubings which were advised in your letter of the 12th instant, Ref: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}6/KW. Exptl. Dept., after very careful tests of this material we find that although in the case of one flex it leaks at the joint, the second one satisfactorily passes all our tests.

We would like to explain that we have put quite a large quantity of this same flex material in use and it appears to be satisfactory, but we are anxious to eliminate any possible risk of failure in your case and therefore propose replacing the two returned flexes with "Lockheed" material.

With renewed regrets, and trusting that the jacks, otherwise, are entirely satisfactory.

We beg to remain,
Yours faithfully,
For S.SMITH & SONS (Motor Accessories) LTD.

SALES DIRECTOR.
