I have enquired from Berriman as to what the Daimler people have done to cure crank shaft vibration, and he tells me that, as far as he can understand, at the end of the crank shaft there is a disc rigidly attached to the crank shaft. The fly wheel is not rigidly attached to the crank shaft, but bears against this disc just as in the case of a plate clutch. Apparently, therefore, they have adopted the slipping arrangement which you discovered in the time of the 30 h.p. R-R cars. C.J. X432 | ||
