X114 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.27/KW. 11th June, 1936. Messrs. John Marston & Co.Ltd., Paul Street Works, WOLVERHAMPTON. For the attention of Mr. Coltman. Dear Sirs, Referring to our telephone conversation of to-day, we are informed by our inspection department that all six of the coolers which you sent us to-day have passed our test satisfactorily (we are only testing to 200 lbs/sq.in. cold at present but will introduce the hot test shortly). As regards the soldering of the twenty five coolers which we made, I understand that the shell joints were silver-soldered, and the solder used for dipping the matrix block etc. was to the following specification - 60% lead 40% tin .875 lb. of Bismuth added to each 100 lbs. of mixture. Trusting that this gives you all the information you require, and that no further trouble will be experienced with these coolers. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
