REAR SPRINGS & FITTINGS. SEC: 7030.
RE ROLLER PLATES FOR SPRINGS.

With reference to our BY/HEB{H. Biraben}3/LW.6.10.20. in which we forwarded two blueprints of F.8584. Roller Plate, kindly note Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has now requested BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} to forward him two blueprints of F.8614. Roller Plate for Springs, in order that he may try same in order to overcome the "knock" experienced on chassis.

We have ordered Roller Plates F.8614. for Series "O" and "P", that is, for use with the pre-War type of Springs, which we are adopting at the beginning of "O" Series.

As regards two blueprints forwarded with the previous memo, namely, F.8584, these are intended to be used if it is necessary to replace any of the Roller Plates at present fitted on chassis, up to the end of "N" Series, that is, with the Post-War type of spring (thick plates).

With this type of spring, it is possible to fit a .300 thick Roller Plate, but with the pre-War type of spring, the maximum thickness it is possible to fit is .250".

Will you kindly order up and proceed accordingly, as required.
