Mr Platford said a number of undersheets break at the point where the flange joins the semi-circular body, at the rear end. The Committee decided to ask Mr Spinney to fit up one or two experimental undersheets having a strengthening piece at the point where the trouble occurs. Mr Wormald reported that Mr Spinney had the matter in hand, and promised to give the same his early attention. 74th Meeting Nov. 14th.11. Undersheets breaking. The Committee were informed that Mr Spinney had this matter in hand, and would give it his early attention. 91st Meeting. 1st Dec.11. Undersheets breaking Mr Spinney had prepared a drawing showing the back edge in the undersheet beaded over to overcome this difficulty. This was in the Order Office and would be submitted for approval at the next meeting. 93rd Meeting Dec.5th.11. Re New Undershield. Mr Spinney submitted drawing E.1885 showing the rear edge of the undershield beaded over to prevent the metal from splitting. The Committee agreed that this was satisfactory and should be made standard. | ||
