25 HP. SYNCHRO-MESH GEARBOXES.

We have now tested the second of the 25 HP. synchro mesh gearboxes and we are still in difficulty with noisy gears.

It will be remembered that at a conference some time ago it was agreed not to order the necessary tackle to enable these gears to be ground on the Maag before we have had more experience with these gearboxes.

We consider the experience we have had with this box justifies us obtaining at once the necessary equipment to enable us to grind the gears. Unless we can get better results for gear quietness on production cars than we have on the two experimental boxes we have made, we shall have considerable trouble in getting cars off test.
