BENTLEY FIXED SHUTTER RADIATOR.

The attached summary indicates the work we have been doing on radiators since J.B.1V. completed 15,000 miles.

Owing to the uncertainty as to future Bentley production, we have had little or no running on 6.B.1V, nor have we fitted up J.B.1V. scheme on other cars.

Therefore, the only arrangement we can possibly standardise is one which has only been fitted to a single car and run under one set of conditions at a certain time of year.

All the customer gets out of it is the elimination of rattling radiator shutters which cannot be said to be a really serious complaint.

Technically, therefore, we have no great incentive to rush standardisation. The works derive the big benefit from cost reduction.

At the moment the worst trouble we can visualise is that owing to the thermostat failing, the water temperature will run at 60°C. or below but there may be other troubles. In view of the present free-of-charge work situation is it worth going for this alteration ?
