To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BJ. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} +7430 R6/M10.6.26. EAC. 8. DASHBOARD. X.7500 X.7430 The stepped cast dashboard appears to be a decided improvement, and should its extra stiffness not result in any disadvantages as regards life, we think this ought to be pushed forward for standardisation as soon as we are satisfied with its durability. Regarding the support for the steering column, this in D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} steering unfortunately fouled the foot. We are modifying both the bulk of it, and the position, so as to lessen the risk, as it is too great as designed, and especially as made at Derby with square edges. We are simplifying the fitting and locating it higher so that it is less liable to foul. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
