- 2 - EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}5/H14.4.30. all cars to be inspected and checked, in spite of the tyres having been fitted on the chassis before leaving the Works. We trust, therefore, that no further trouble will be experienced in this respect. I will, however, take the matter up with JLE.{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} on my next visit to London, as I cannot understand either he or PN.{Mr Northey} passing the car as satisfactory without at least checking that the wheels were in balance. With regard to the pivot lean - this is rather disconcerting, as we have a definite record that this chassis, while on test was checked for pivot lean and was within the specified limits. When discussing this car with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} on its arrival at the Works I was assured by him that as far as he could see the car was quite within our standard construction and that any alterations to be made would be non-standard. It is a pity that this point was not drawn to my attention at the time so that it could be taken up with the Works. Normally, the evidence is such at present that the pivot lean was O.K. and I am afraid we shall not now get any further with the statement that the lean was 3 1/4", unless you have definite evidence to prove this.
