HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FILE - 'Ginger up' for Tom maddocks R.R. 255 A (1,000 P) (S.F.) 816 6.8.19. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2150 Expl: Office, Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. England. 7.1.20. Mr. T. Maddocks, c/o.{Mr Oldham} Mr. Claude Johnson, Hotel De L'Europe, Avignon, Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence. Dear Maddocks, You should put some more oil in the rear axle casing - when you left Derby it was not full up to the level but there was quite sufficient in there. Please get it filled up at Paris with Castrol Oil. If you find the oil leaks out very badly I think you should try a thicker oil in the axle in place of the Castrol. You might also note if this makes any difference to the noise in the axle. Copy of the above sent to Paris. Yours faithfully, E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} W. Hives. FOR ROLLS-ROYCE, LIMITED. | ||
