1170 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}2/AP. 18th March 1937 J.N.Longley Esq., Chief Chemist, Messrs Ferodo Ltd., CHAPEL-EN-LE-FRITH. Dear Mr.Longley, As I explained on the telephone, I have returned to your Factory the pieces of ML, VM.20 and S.6860 delivered to us two days ago because they were undrilled, and as you have dies for drilling these pieces, it is better for your to drill them than us. I have retained one piece of S.6860 for use on our test rig. The thin pieces of VM.20 have to fit on our shoes as usual, therefore, the location of the holes on the inside radius must be as usual. Your material S.5584 has a very bad fade and is very noisy when hot; we shall need no further supplies of it. I have shown Mr.Hardy my results and he will drop experiments with it as servos. Yours truly, | ||
