Dear Mr.Minchin,

With regard to that portion of your recent letter to me dealing with the suggestion of duplicating the 20 HP. ignition, you will probably be interested in a portion of a report EFC2/AD.12.29 addressed to Mr.Royce. I am therefore enclosing a copy of this for you to see.

With regard to the question of mis-firing on your 20/25, we were expecting to hear from Mr.Bellringer regarding the condition of the points and the general state of misfiring to which you have referred.

You will be interested to know that we are now arriving at the conclusion that with tungsten points lower values of the condenser capacity are better for preserving the condition of the points. We perhaps previously rather too naturally assumed that the value of the condenser for tungsten points should be the same as for platinum points, but experience has shown that where the condenser capacity has been on the lower limit or inadvertently low, the condition of the tungsten points has been better.
