RE CHASSIS 115-MC (Overoiling)

We have now taken the engine out of the frame and measured up the play in the big end bearings.

N°5 which appears to be the chief culprit of throwing out oil, indicated .010" play with N°2 almost as bad. All bearings including main bearing were a very poor job as regards bearing surfaces. We believe all the bearings have been damaged by Turkey powder.

The key of the crankshaft pinion was sheered and the crankshaft cone damaged by hammering.

Ps.

PS-The crankshaft pinion had shifted radially 1/8" of the circumference.
