Phantom III - Radiator Shutters.

Please receive herewith:-

LeC.5469 which is a design to provide an easy adjustment for shutter end play which can be made at any time and without disturbing the apron.

The particular need for the adjustment is after the wings have been fixed to the car, when sag has taken place in the shutter frame.

The bottom strip which carries the shutter pivots is in three parts as now, and in the same position.

The shutters are shortened .137 which will affect the frontal appearance, but probably not to any extent.

Will HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} please get this fitted to one car so that the appearance can be judged by all those concerned.

The drawing shows two special plate spanners for operating the adjustment. These are essential to prevent the damage to the enamel on the apron.

LeC.5469 herewith.
