THE ROVER COMPANY LTD NEW METEOR WORKS: COVENTRY Our Ref WRB/JM.{Mr Morley} Your Ref 5th. July, 1939. W.A. Robotham Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., DERBY. Dear Robotham, We have been performing "acts of agression" against Messrs. Joseph Lucas, Limited, for some considerable time, in an endeavour to obtain distributors with much more accurate advance characteristics than we have been used to in the past. It would be of considerable assistance to us in these efforts if you would be kind enough to let us have some particulars of the limits which you work to on your own distributor advance mechanism. If it would be of any help I will get one of our men to come up and contact with your distributor expert. I feel sure that you keep such a gentleman, as you seem to have an expert on most subjects. The first of the new engines will go on the bench this week. If you should hear nothing further from us for the next 6 months, you will be able to guess the reason. With kind regards, Yours sincerely, WRBoyle | ||
