-2- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}11/JH.9.6.39. modification to finish the bore of the bush at the correct size. (5) They admit that some squash has taken place in the actual bush and in consequence are supplying us with a further supply in Clevite '8' which is an improvement on Clevite '10' in this respect. When these are available we should like you to fit a set in the six rods removed from B.60 No.2. in accordance with the above recommendations. We have instructed a number of engines B.80 No.6 Conventional 8, B.60 No.5. and 6 and Wraith ripple No.1 to be fitted with Vandervell little end bushes. It is anticipated that by the time they are required for these units, a successfull bush will be available. These particular rods should be produced with the internal grooving in the little end deleted as this is unnecessary and contributory to scoring of the outside of the bush when being pressed in.
