40/50.HP. Spring Engine Coupling.

In view of the fact that we are considering the proposal to fit some of these temporarily on certain new 40/50 Cars, we have dismantled the spring coupling from Chassis 2291, the Car which has been allocated to us for Transport purposes.

We have found this Spring Coupling in good condition, the driving springs being intact.

There are certain signs in the engine coupling which indicate that at some time it has been running with broken springs, but according to records, nothing has been done to this Engine Coupling since 1919 when the car was in the Repair Department for overhaul.
