Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/KW. 15th October 1934. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., Experimental Dept., DERBY. Dear Sirs, For the attention of W.A.Robotham Esq. We have to acknowledge receipt of your communication dated the 12th, and note your remarks concerning our invoice for six anodised pistons. If you will be good enough to refer to our communication of the 1st, you will see that we are virtually in agreement with you on the question of supplying material of this kind which is for purely research purposes. Our only object in invoicing and crediting when the goods are returned, is that, in such a manner, an automatic record is obtained of the cost of such work to us without otherwise having to make any special changes in our system. It merely amounts to a question of procedure, and if therefore, you would prefer that such material is supplied without either invoices or orders, we shall be quite happy to make different arrangements at this end. | ||
