X5090. FILES. CAMSHAFT REQUIRED FOR "HOT STUFF" JAPAN UNIT. 110.5º shaft. Two exhaust cams. Best timing on existing 112º shaft with high lift rockers. On this shaft duration of both cams is 240º. Duration on W.W. 110.5º shaft is 238º only. [Diagram A Labels: TDC, 12, A, 59, .013 C'Ince., 50.7] From our experience we should say that the exhaust timing is about right on shaft A, but the inlet closing is un-nec-essarily late. The shorter duration brings it to 57º if we leave the opening where it is and if we are allowed a little roar, and the last word in slow running is not expected, we can increase the overlap slightly by opening the inlet 4º B.T.C. which brings us to the final timing B. [Diagram B Labels: 4, 12, B, 63, 51] [Diagram C Labels: 224º, C, 108.5 EX CAM, IN.CAM, 115.2] From C. the angle between the cams should be 112º.
