To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} x216 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}9/KW.17.3.36. Re Cast-Iron Crankcase. Will you please make this crankcase suitable for the engine having a double rear main bearing; that is to say, the box members should be added to crankcase EB.2409 but this latter must first be modified to be suitable for a large bore. With regard to the two crankcases to this drawing which have already been made in aluminium for a small bore engine, we think these should be scrapped and the pattern altered to the large bore structure. We would suggest that a few castings are taken off in aluminium before the boxes are added for the cast-iron case. We have asked By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} to alter drawing EB.2409 to bring it up to date. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
