To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. c. HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/W.Bell. 324 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.11/MH.{M. Huckerby}12.1.38. In order to avoid delay in carrying out the fan belt endurance on the new Ph.III belt which was to be done on No. 6 unit on the test bed, we have decided to do this on the rig engine which W.Bell has. Will you, therefore, rebuild this unit with the pulleys and fan instructed for No. 6 unit together with the same wheel case modifications requested for No.6 unit. Will you please also arrange to leave off the camshaft driving gear and valve gear for this test as we wish to run the fan and water pump but not the valve gear.
