Dear Sirs,
30 h.p. DC-42 CARBURETTER
In connection with your letter of the 7th inst., reference as above, we note your remarks regarding the idle metering screw and the point will have every consideration.
In connection with your proposals to turn the carburetter round 90° we note that you wish to do this in order to cure flooding on gradients, but we would take this opportunity of putting our experience on record to the effect that as far as we have been able to determine there would be a danger of flooding when cornering in one direction on the one hand, and a throttle spindle arranged with its axis at right-angles to the centre line of the engine invariably results in some throttle bias, so upsetting the distribution.
The arrangement which you propose is not one which we would suggest ourselves, owing to our experience in that direction not having been favourable, but of course you
