re Continental Phantom.

Referring to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}9/E.11.2.33 the changes involved in the introduction of wells in the rear of the car are as follows:

The tubular crossmember behind the brake equaliser assembly is moved forward in the chassis and has a different set.

The tubular crossmember opposite the front end of the rear springs is deleted and its place is taken by a sheet metal crossmember having a large panelled hole through the centre such as we use on the 20/25 chassis.

There is a new battery box suspension, the silencer suspension is modified.

A new type bracket is required for carrying the brake mechanism through.

Modification to Luvax scheme is necessary.

I am definitely of the opinion that a 10,000 mile test would be required before we put this on production and also a bump test.

Apart from the above modifications the foot wells are very close to the silencer shield on one side, and we shall want to be sure that no overheating results.

By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} is replying on the question of what is involved in introducing these alterations on the Phantom for the next Show, but it would appear that at the present rate of production of Phantoms it would be almost necessary to order the material in parallel with the type test.
