OY 7 A x9037 May 3rd, 1929. TO: Mr. Beaver Mr. Burton Mr. Ross FROM: Mr. Olley SH cc - Mr. Caswell Mr. Allen Mr. Bagnall Mr. Bumpston Mr. Bailey (Eng.) Mr. Hives Mr. Hopkins Mr. Fuller Mr. Knapton OIL FILTER - SECTION 5200 Further to OY1 April 30th, we now have a note from Mr. Hives from which it is evident that he also approves of the Cuno Oil Filter. His only objections are weight and cutting of the brass plates by sand. They tried steel plates at Derby, but it seems to me that these would have to be stainless to avoid rusting. We have had no trouble with grit in the plates. As regards weight the Cuno weighs 3 lbs. against 6 lbs. for the Purolator. He. also remarks that on the 20 HP. Sunbeam the filter is neatly mounted inside the crankcase. This is out of the question for us at the moment. It appears therefore that the only objection to our using the Cuno instead of the Purolator is the cost. Can Mr. Ross get the makers in line on price? OY. | ||
