RE - E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} C. - ENGINE.

We have examined above Engine and give below the main points which require attention.

1. Tubes in Cylinders.
These were fitted without Wedges, but leaks developed on the majority, consequently on future Cylinders we shall fit the very light Wedges you suggest.
We have also put in hand Copper Tubes as requested.

2. Cylinder Head.
There was no sign of any leaks when Water Testing this, and although the Monel Metal Tubes were so difficult to swage over, when we were assembling they have held up on Test remarkably well.

3. Pistons.
No 1 had seized, Bore has been relapped, and New Piston fitted, we are going into the question of clearance; also the modified eccentric Grinding.

4. Idler Gear.
We had suggested to D.O. that Idler Gear E.70300 should be screwed thus to facilitate dismantling.

5. Tool for Valve Removal.
We require a Tool similar to that used on Gos 11. Valver, for removing Valves.
