X2625 To EFC. BY/RD5/ML26.5.27. STARTER MOTOR (SLIDING ARMATURE). I have now given RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} (BY/RD4/ML26.5.27) all the necessary instructions to modify the existing motor to have taper bore, .250 out of centre in the "IN" position and weaker spring. The air gap will be .0125 "IN" position and .026 "OUT" position and when the armature is "IN" there will be no definite stop as previously, we shall rely on the pinion coming up against its stop to indicate when the armature is home.
