COPY. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/MJ.15.4.36. Flt. Lieut. Staniland. When Flt. Lieut. Staniland came up the other day to see the Heinkel machine he asked me to make for him a pair of gears for his alfa-Romeo racing car. Owing to the sanctions on Italy he cannot obtain any spares. I agreed that we would do this as they are not a very big job and I consider that it is in our interest to keep friendly with Staniland because most of our Merlin business is tied up with Faireys. He expects to pay for the gears but I do not know whether you would consider it policy to let him have them free of charge. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
