Dear Mr. West, Herewith I have pleasure in sending to you small samples of Raw Buna 'N', 115 and Thiokol A, as promised when I visited you several weeks ago. I find that it is not at present possible to purchase in this country any of the Buna Synthetic rubbers, but the sole agents in this country for rubber products for the I.G. have informed me that they hope to have supplies of Buna 'N' for sale in the autumn of this year. There are four types of Buna rubbers, viz., Buna 'N', 'S', 115 and 85, the first two are employed in the manufacture of soft articles and the latter two for rigid or hard articles, i.e., comparable to ebonite. They all have the same starting point, and the difference in behaviour is brought about by the degree of polymerisation. I trust that you will find these small museum samples of some interest. Yours sincerely, William J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Brittland | ||
