Windscreens.

With reference to your R2/W/13/9/27 this matter has been discussed by the Coachbuilding Committee here and they have reported as follows:

The CSC for the last three years have been endeavouring to get a satisfactory windscreen with a clear vision. The ideal they have been working for is a one-piece glass with two windscreen wipers. Quite a number of cars are being fitted with one-piece windscreens; the only drawback is that they have to be fixed and accordingly under certain weather conditions might be very difficult - for instance a freezing fog, when a thin mist settles on the screen and freezes and the wipers will not move it.
As standard, however, we have adopted a two-piece screen split horizontally, the lower portion being as short as possible so that the division is well below the line of vision, and on many cars two windscreen wipers are fitted, thus giving good vision when it is raining.

I enclose a photograph showing the windscreen referred to.
