To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} +4553 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/KW.3.8.34. 5-B-IV. Referring to our specification of Bentley 5, Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}13/KW.13.5.34, the body for this car has now been built for two months and various attempts have been made by Sales to annex it. We have only frustrated them by telling them the chassis was about ready. We should therefore be glad if you would try and get the chassis cleared up as soon as possible. We should like to amend our specification to simplify the job, and that is, instead of a Peregrine gearbox have a standard gearbox in magnesium. The brake gear will then be as on 3-B-IV.
