SPECTRECodename for Phantom III TYRES.

Replying to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}6/E.24.7.35.

A rear tyre life of 3,000 miles on the 40/50 in France is quite normal. We have four previous cases where rear tyres have been discarded under 3,000 miles and many others may have run more than 4,000 miles.

This short tyre life indicates the severity of the test. We have had extraordinary wear of front tyres on the Phantom. The highly cambered Continental roads are generally responsible for this. It cannot be very bad if the front tyres have both done over 6,500 miles under Continental conditions.
