2. time we adopt steel wings, either to have stone guards fitted or use a thicker gauge steel. We have had a certain amount of trouble with the front wings working loose and consequently creaking and rattling. Also the bonnet has dropped and hammered on the cover over the pendulum lever. REAR BOOT. The clearances around the door of the rear boot have remained constant. An amount of dust has collected inside the boot. This, apparently, is sucked in through the drain holes in the leather underneath the hinges. SQUEAKS AND RATTLES. It has been very noticeable that when the car is left out in the sun for some time a certain amount of creaks and rattles develope, but these gradually diminish when the car is run again and quickly disappear if it is raining. The squeaks and rattles in the body have not been bad at any time and, with the exception of the front wings, have not had any attention. ACCESSORIES. The traffic indicators have given a certain amount of trouble due to the arms frequently sticking. The headlamps, which are of the old type, tend to dip automatically on a bad road. Lucas have had these for attention but have not been able to effect a cure. The outside filler is not at all satisfactory. It is necessary for somebody to hold the petrol pump nozzle in the filler and then if the pump works at full bore and lot of petrol is splashed over. J.L.E. | ||
