Attempted fix for an accelerator pump flap valve and analysis of a sticking choke spindle.

we have tried reducing the travel on the flap valve in the accelerator pump by half but this has not cured the trouble. Further development work is required.

3) The choke spindle is quite slack in its bearings diametrically and endways. The sticking seems to be the result of slight sideways load on the bearings imposed by the operating mechanism and dry friction. It appears therefore, to be a question of bearing material, unless the spring load can be increased considerably.
