London E.C.4.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to your letter of Aug. 7th.
ref. NH/JS {Mr Johnson's Secretary} /R1.
We are somewhat reluctant to suppress the Tail Bearing in our 20 HP. rear axle but if there is no other means of getting the De Lavaud Differential in the housing, it appears to be the only procedure to adopt in order to test the device on a 20 HP. car.

We should be interested to see your drawings of the axle shewing the proposed method of fitting the De Lavaud Differential in. It would be of considerable interest to us here if we could try a car at Derby equipped with the De Lavaud Differential as it would enable us to form an opinion as to the usefulness of so equipping one of our cars.

Yours faithfully,
