Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1020 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/R.27.1.37. CLEVELAND GRAPHITE BRONZE BEARINGS. Vandervell's are agants for these bearings. Ben Hopkins' representative was over here the other day, and talked most convincingly that the only way to get good Babbit was to make it by the continuous strip process. There is no doubt that the Cleveland Graphite should know as much as anybody in the world about this material, and in view of this fact we told them to go ahead and make 3 sets. They are charging us £45 for the bearings, and we are passing the invoice for payment. Incidentally, Vandervell has bought a Bentley on the strength of these tests.
