X.1698 RE VISIT TO WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town. X.3764

Mr. Hives, Mr. Day and I propose to come down to Chichester next Wednesday evening, the 3rd. March. It is our intention to come on chassis 4.EX. This chassis will not be wired up as it is the one we have been working upon in connection with the earther wire scheme and the pieces will not be ready for fitting in time for it to be completed. We gather that it is rather important that our visit should not be delayed and we therefore do not propose to wait for the completion of the Test Deptp's chassis which is being wired up with the finer Glovers' wire in accordance with the scheme prepared by Mr. Day in conjunction with the Experimental Dept. some few weeks ago. We are bringing chassis 4.EX in order to show you the thermostat regulator which is fitted. (x.3726) We also have the higher bonnet and radiator fitted to this chassis.

Will you kindly confirm that it will be convenient for you to see us first thing on Thursday morning.
