For the attention of Mr. G. {Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Ratcliffe

Dear Sirs,

In reply to your letter of the 3rd instant and your complaint regarding a sticking choke valve on a Wraith carburetter, we cannot understand the request regarding the relieved bearings, because in actual fact the bearings of the throttle spindle were relieved as requested by you, previous to you having decided to have the thick strangler plate fitted.

The thick strangler plate was fitted to carburetters completed the 8th September 1938 and came into operation at carburetter 5595, and all carburetters with such strangler plate fitted bear the suffix "U" or the suffix "U" and some other letter after the serial number.

Yours faithfully,
THE ZENITH CARBURETTER CO. LTD.
