Copy of Memo To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}2/MG24.10.33 40/50 HP. Axle Springs Can you now give us a report, please, on the sample Rolled Eye 40/50 HP. Axle Springs: Front - Piece No. 85191 Rear - Piece No. 85180 sent to the Experimental Shop last July for observation (Order No.47808 dated 27.5.33). If you are not in a position to report, can you give some approximate idea of when a report will be available, so that we can balance our stocks accordingly. You will recollect we have already standardised the Rolled Eye on the 20/25 HP. Chassis, and effected considerable economy thereby, and one is naturally anxious to do likewise on the 40/50 HP. - provided your tests prove satisfactory. On the 40/50 HP. Chassis the standardisation would represent at least £2.18.0d saving per Chassis, or, based on our present output, some £500-600 per year ROY{Sir Henry Royce} ENCLOSURE Nº 607 | ||
