Wind Tone Horns - 20/25 H.P. Your Ref: E/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}5/MN.26.2.36. We have now consulted Barkers, Hoopers, Park Ward and Thrupp & Maberly on the suitability of their front wing valances for wind tone horns mounted as shown in your Print No. LeC.4684. We are glad to say that the first three coach-builders tell us that their standard valances will clear the wind tone horns mounted as shown in your print, and we have told them to adhere to this shape because it is anticipated that there will be a demand for the wind tone horns in future and we want to be able to mount them when required without modification of the wing valances or raising the headlights. As regards Thrupp & Maberly, we find they have two types of valances, a full pattern for the Enclosed Limousine and employed on your car, 22-G-4, and a more slender pattern for so-called sports bodies. The sports type would clear wind tone horns mounted as shown in your print. Thrupp & Maberly have a certain number of the limousine pattern wings in stock and we have suggested and they have agreed that when these are used up, they shall standardise the sports shape of valance so that there should be no difficulty with them if and when the wind tone horns are standardised. Naturally, in spite of what we have done, we should like to have as much notice as possible of when wind tone horns will begin to come through, assuming it is agreed they are to be standardised.
