To DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to BJ. SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. to R.{Sir Henry Royce} Y5830 X5770 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG20.8.28. INDIA COUPE LIMOUSINE FOR R.{Sir Henry Royce} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/M14.8.28. We greatly resent the remark in your memo. that Derby spoilt this car. Our opinion is, that if this body is unsatisfactory, you alone are responsible. If it had not been for Derby and London taking over your job when it was in a hopeless position, there would have been no body or car. We had instructions to paint the bonnet black - which we did - then, because the coachbuilder, whom you are supposed to instruct, make a mistake, you blame Derby. We have never received any grey paint from Barkers, but I don't suppose we should have used it even if we had. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
