X7410 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to DY{F R Danby} c. to HX AXLE SPRINGS We are experiencing the greatest difficulty in keeping the Shops adequately supplied with Axle Springs, due mainly to the complete change in fashion that has taken place in recent weeks, i.e., both 20 HP. and 40/50 HP. Chassis are now being sprung considerably heavier than previously, in fact, where we were fitting 10% of the Chassis specified with reasonably heavy poundage Springs, at least 70% are now called for with such poundage. It would help us materially in getting through our present difficulties if some agreement can now be made regarding the standardisation or otherwise of the Rolled Eye on the Rear Spring of the 40/50 HP. Chassis. This, you will recollect, was discussed, and tentatively agreed as far back as November last year. Kindly advise. ROY{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
