To EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} WOR{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} HM.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} RG.{Mr Rowledge} X1588 Hsl/LG15.11.23. LUBRICATING OILS. X1588 X47 Although we are testing Shell, Vacuum, Duckhams, and Wakefields oil, the one we have had the most experience with is 'Wakefields XL'. We have been running with this on a 40/50 HP. car for nearly 12 months. The internal condition of the engine is certainly better than those we have examined which have been using 'Prices'. There is nothing like the amount of black deposit on the parts. The oil is a compound oil and we believe, costs about the same as 'Prices'. We have not proved that it possesses any virtues with regard to reducing carbon deposit like what is claimed by other makers which we however, have not yet confirmed. We recommend that the next car which is run a 10,000 miles test should be lubricated with 'Wakefields XL' Engine oil. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
