1380 also 1245 - /P. Sr. from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/R.29.9.38. I am sorry that we had already sent off Embircos' car by the time we received your wire saying we could keep it. This is very unfortunate as we had practically no time to do anything with it, particularly in view of the fact that we were somewhat disorganised by A.R.P. preparations. However, we are sending you some recommendations with regard to reducing heat in the driving compartment. I am sending you a copy of the memo which I wrote to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} with regard to the Paulin Bentley. The remarks re Punt were prompted by a note from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} in which he stated that Punt's impression with regard to bringing up this car from Folkestone was "that it was quite impractical in this country". I had a talk to Punt and I hope that I have correctly interpreted his feelings towards the car. You will be pleased to hear that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} thought it was most attractive. As one could have anticipated, Conduit St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} were not enthusiastic, but they will be educated in time. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
