X.1782. RE STANDARD ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENTS. X.2067.

Will you kindly order up for us a Model 1 Weston Milli-voltmeter with a 0 to 150 scale reading direct up to 75 milli-volts, also the following shunts for same :-

(1) A separate shunt giving a 150 milli-ampere range.
(2) A combined .5 and 15 ampere shunt.
(3) A combined multiplier to give 1.5, 15 and 150 ranges.

We require this as a standardising set which is to be used for no other purpose than checking the readings of other instruments, and in addition will be used by no one but myself.
At the present moment, we have two instruments with shunts which are sufficient for one, but which may be used with both, but it is impossible to keep these as standards as we have not sufficient instruments to prevent these being used in the ordinary work.
Will Mr. Barrington kindly give his sanction to the placing of this order, which involves an expenditure of about £25, but which seems most necessary at this point, as, owing to our present instruments being used by various other people, it is impossible to keep a check on the accuracy of the readings.
