to burn and oxidize, consequently causing bad contact at make.
The oil appears to have come through from the rear of the magneto as after running the magneto on the bench a short time castrol oil ran out from the rear [strikethrough] end bearing.
After running on the bench with a new distributor fitted the points gradually cleaned themselves and regular sparking was obtained from 200 to 3500 rpm.
We consider it imperative that some means should be provided to effectively seal the points from oil and oil vapours!
