Major Searight,

W.3.

Dear Sir,

We thank you for your TPS/MW. of the 14th inst. We have received the three K.S.180 gauges which we sent you for modification. We observe that it was only necessary to modify the tank units. However, you have only sent us two tank units and we require a third to complete the three sets of parts.

We wonder whether it will be possible to modify any of our existing K.S.180 dashboard units to take the hand pump. We have nine of these in stock and they will automatically become obsolete if we approve of the hand pumping scheme.

We understand from our accounts Dept. that there has been considerable difficulty about 20 H.P. replacement gauges F.55744 K.S.155. Experimentally we have only ordered one gauge of this type, and only one has been used on production, but for some reason four units appear to have been sent from Acton of this type. There therefore remain two outstanding gauges to K.S.155 for which you are asking payment.

After exhaustive search we have found one, but cannot trace the other. We have, therefore, asked our Accounts Dept. to pay for this gauge, though we think it was supplied owing to a misunderstanding, and wonder if in the circumstances you could drop the demand for the fourth unit.

We have very encouraging reports from the K.S.180

Contd.
