RADIATOR FOR 6.B.1V. Car.

This radiator, as received back from John Marston Ltd., is not yet suitable for fitting to 6.B.1V. car for the following reasons:-

(1) The shutters are too flimsey.
(2) The shell has been damaged in fitting.
(3) The starting handle tunnel does not permit use of the starting handle.
(4) The type of bonnet eye which is fitted to the top tank is not suitable for a Widney bonnet hinge - the standard eye EB.282 is fitted whereas a special eye to EB.3293 is needed to suit the Widney hinge.

We are visiting John Marston Ltd. tomorrow and taking this radiator with us to discuss alterations to the shutters. We shall bring it back with us and will hand it to you for the following work to be carried out. -

(1) Remove shell and have same reconditioned by Radiator Dept. - no new shell is available at present.
(2) Remove top tank from matrix - fit bonnet to EB.3293 and re-fit top tank.
(3) Alter top tank as required for scheme LeC.5655.
(4) Rebuild radiator complete, fit same to 6.B.1V. chassis and fit Widney bonnet hinges before bonnet is built up.
(5) Despatch radiator to John Marston Ltd., Wolverhampton - we will arrange for this radiator to be taken over by road when it is ready.

Will you please have this work carried out as soon as possible in order to avoid delaying 6.B.1V. car.
