1180 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}14/JH. 28th April, 1938. Messrs. Ferodo Ltd., Chapel-en-le-Frith. For the attention of W.E. Chilton Esq., Dear Sirs, We regret the delay in sending you some sample linings the bonding of which has deposited in patches on the drums. We have at last obtained some, and despatched them separately to you. We are inclined to think that there is nothing in particular wrong with the linings, and that the phenomenon is due to high duty: but since even the Phantom lll brakes have this trouble it seems that some-thing better in the way of linings is required. The linings returned are MR.3 which are more prone to this fault than BZ. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
