For the attention of Mr. West. Dear Sirs, Regarding the pair of instruments that we returned to you on the 8th inst., we would remind you that these instruments were equipped with:- a) Non-interference magnet system. b) New design of frame and worm shaft-drive. c) larger size mileage and trip discs - 19mm. instead of 16mm. The trip re-set of the speedometer is an absolute duplicate of the method employed in the present instrument, which has given satisfaction for the last five years. The above three modifications are also to be used in the sample instruments being prepared by Mr. Dorer, with concave dial, and they will also incorporate greater damping, which we have effected by reducing the gap and suitably altering the strength of the hairspring. The writer felt that it would be as well to place these points on record before you, because if, as we anticipate, your tests prove satisfactory, we, naturally, shall then have to go ahead with the alterations in drawings, tools, etc., and this work Handwritten notes: Top right corner: 86051 Next to addressee: WST Left margin: R.D.
