Our main difficulty which has taken us some considerable time to surmount has been to reduce the commutator sparking at high speeds with full output (as distinct from the usual approx. 4% drop in output experienced with the third brush dynamo at high speeds) to within reasonable limits.

We have made some headway in this direction with both dynamos without sacrificing much in the way of cutting in speed and maximum output.

There are a number of experiments we are trying out in this direction one of the most interesting being the inclusion of a few series turns on the main field.
